It didn&#8217;t start that way, but by early Saturday afternoon it certainly was run-run-running.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Today alone involved outings to 10 different shops, 2 restaurants, 1 cafe, and 3 MRT stations. It involved a lot of walking (my ankle is sore again). It also involved several friends &#8212; some who know each other, some who don&#8217;t, but all provided me with particularly insightful conversations&#8230; including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>why our 20s felt so easy but in retrospect were so effing difficult<\/li>\n<li>why it&#8217;s important to keep a clean kitchen<\/li>\n<li>how working in the F&amp;B industry teaches important life lessons<\/li>\n<li>how fortunate we are to have lives where all needs are taken care of, and then some &#8212; and how bothersome it is when others don&#8217;t acknowledge recognize their own fortune\/privilege<\/li>\n<li>why society is surprised when an Asian speaks fluent French, and why this is problematic<\/li>\n<li>how parents raise children to either live their adult lives or for parents to live their children&#8217;s lives, and why (if?) this matters<\/li>\n<li>why inching towards 40 is scary<\/li>\n<li>how relationships are flipping hard work, and the insane effort that goes into staying with the same person for years and years, even when (if?) you&#8217;re not happy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It was a busy weekend.<\/p>\n<p>But&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I am happiest when my days are full. I am happiest when my social calendar is chocka to the brim. I am happiest when I can have both cerebral and emotive conversations with trusted friends &#8212; with lots of laughs and smiles thrown in, too &#8212; even when we are talking about the &#8220;notsogoodstuff&#8221; happening in our lives.<\/p>\n<p>^^ that&#8217;s today&#8217;s truth ^^<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>This week is my birthday week. It&#8217;s looking to be a full week.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>(So is the week after. This is all good.)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My weekend was action-packed.
