I love it. I&#8217;ve used it with students (though I change the last &#8220;S&#8221; to stand for &#8220;Students&#8221;!), friends, family&#8230; pets. \ud83d\ude42&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Today was a challenging day for me. First day of school.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The KISS principle echoed in my mind.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Very little was simple. It was all complicated. VERY complicated. It all went pear-shaped, as they say.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And the week has only just begun!<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s truth is about the importance of keeping things simple. <a href=\"http:\/\/amichetti.posterous.com\/cabbage-and-apple-thyme-soup\">Like the soup I made tonight<\/a>. 7 ingredients &#8212; pretty dang basic for a soup. But wow does that apple and cabbage taste well together. And how would you know that, if you&#8217;d also added a potato and some carrots and maybe a turnip or some Parmesan? You&#8217;d have lost the plot&#8230; and had a complicated soup with very yawn-able flavour.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>(Sidebar: if there is one thing I&#8217;m learning while leafing through <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavourthesaurus.com\/\">The Flavour Thesaurus<\/a>, it&#8217;s that simple pairings bring out the most intense flavours.
