It&#8217;s the first state to do so. And it did so even before the first public draft of the K-12 standards has been issued. (Nonpublic drafts have been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edweek.org\/ew\/articles\/2010\/01\/28\/20common_ep.h29.html\">circulating among state officials<\/a> for review.) <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"posterous_quote_citation\">via <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.edweek.org\/edweek\/curriculum\/2010\/02\/kentucky_becomes_the_first_to.html\">blogs.edweek.org<\/a><\/div>\n<p>The fact that the United States *don&#8217;t* have common K-12 standards is mind-baffling. Hooray for Kentucky.
